Default Upload problem with the ruTorrent (seedmybox)

My plan is VPS Platinum $ 40U, has good speed download (40mb) but upload sucks, I can not upload more than 9mb
packs in the new SCC, F*N, Chdbits the maximum I got was 10mb, I'm using rutorrent, the deluge would fare
    better to download and upload?
RuTorrent installed using script, but my upload are bad, do not know what to do already opened ticket with support but I did not improve ..
Deluge configured but it does not accept login using password, password error is showing

make sure there is no limit on your rutorrent. deluge is a better than rutorrent in some cases.

I've had exactly the same problem with rtorrent and i gave up. Tried everything but it just didn't work. Even though i tweaked the .rtorrent.rc file according to various guides and suggestions around the net, i couldn't make it work as it should.

Deluge was far better though and i could get speeds of up to 90 MB/s UL. If you go with Deluge, make sure to give it unlimited resources or else it won't work either. By unlimited i mean to insert "-1" wherever possible. At least that's what i did and it went ok. However, in order for this to work, you will need to have 1 active torrent at a time or else the speeds will be terribly bad.

Since i'm on the same boat with you, i'd love it if anyone could suggest some settings for both rtorrent and Deluge.

So you could only download then seed one file at a time for it to work properly? If you wanted to download and seed something else, you'd have to stop the previous one?

I would like to warn you about deluge. Some high level trackers like Pedros don't allow deluge. There might be some more out there. So please read the FAQ for banned clients before you go for deluge

Yes, something like that. With a couple of torrents seeding, i could still get some decent speeds (something like 10-15 MB/s upload) but if i had 2 torrents downloading at the same time, i could hardly exceed 5 MB/s. So yeah, in order to maximize the bandwidth, i had to stop all the torrents when leeching a new one. When this torrent was finished, i could resume the others as well. However, deluge sucks donkey balls after the initial period and the speeds you will get are generally bad. Deluge is good only for the first 30 mins - 1 hour max.

The bandwidth is there. I tested the UL speed by uploading 80 GB in a file host and it took me 19 minutes which equals to 70 MB/s constant UL speed. I just don't know how to tweak Deluge and/or rtorrent to make the full out of the bandwidth available.

And yeah, i always read the FAQs so i know which clients are banned or not.

is there anyway you could post your .rtorrent.rc (clean out anything you don't want us to know...not really sure what that would be but whatever), it might be possible you are hitting one of the other rtorrent limits. Such as max files open, max peers(global/per torrent), max upload/download connections, max memory(I kind of doubt this one, but considering you said it was one torrent at a time...maybe..), maybe your buffers arn't big enough to handle that high of a speed, or possibly your HDD isn't fast enough at seeking...( is there a BitTorrent bench to test that sort of stuff? :P )

Maybe you host has some different bottleneck than what those guides are built for? try looking at things like iotop, iftop, etc...

Also what version of rtorrent are you running?

I don't have any .rtorrent.rc examples to give you since i did a OS reinstall several times and now i don't have rtorrent installed. If you have any good setup to provide me so i can test it, that would be awesome.

By the way, the rtorrent version was 0.8.6 and i installed it using the auto-dl irssi script which installs rtorrent plus some other goodies.

Just wondering; did you use the correct curl and libcurl?

I had problems with speeds as well (Ubuntu 9.10 & rtorrent packages) but after switching to Debian 6.0 and doing a manual install/configure of rtorrent with the correct curl, I have had no problems whatsoever.

I would also suggest building bottom up; depending on the OS, get the kernel optimized first, then the commandline version of your torrent-client, test/tune that for a day or 2, then extend with flexget, autodl, webserver, web interface and so on.

Screenie to prove "a bit": ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting (imageshack so possible popups).
