Thread: new seedbox = new problems for a retard like me!

I just got an Evobox and having trouble setting it up. I have had a Whatbox before and managed to set up Deluge on it with a bit of help from you guys but this one seems a bit trickier to sort out.

I intend on using ruTorrent and Deluge on it.

I'm having trouble even contacting my server with Putty so I can access the auto-install script. So if anyone could help me out here I would appreciate it.

Well I've been tinkering with it and have made some progress.
I've managed to connect to the host with putty and installed Deluge, RuTorrent and FTP.

Starting with Deluge: I can access Deluge WebUI and it is connected but can't work out how to d/l anything with Deluge. How do I d/l stuff with Deluge?

if you can access the webui, just download the torrent file, and click on add torrent and upload the torrent file to it?

Yes but thats not the right way to use Deluge is it?
I used to use Deluge same as any other bt client with my other seedbox - I just clicked the torrent link and downloaded to Deluge, which is what I need help to achieve here.
I guess I need to know how to connect Deluge WebUi to Deluge on my pc. Any thoughts?

Deluge webui should work like every other one... but i remember that evoboxes are crap with their deluge full of bugs. I dropped them for that reason and because the response to my support ticket complaining about changing deluge ports to the non-default ones was "use rtorrent", a very bad provider for the ones who don't know their way with linux.

Try checking the conections manager, i think it has a button next to preferences, and try cllicking on "conect".
There is also a way to use Deluge thin client to conect to your deluge's client installed on your home pc, refer to the FAQs at Deluge site to see how to conect using the thin client.

You would have got the Webui link for Deluge after you run the set up script , it would have been down the bottom of the putty screen , i presume it would as i set up rT and ruT Webui and it was like that , i just the entered the link in Firefox Awesome bar and there was the Webui

Yeah I've been able to use Deluge Web UI to d/l torrents, as Naches said, by clicking the torrent file and using uTorrent to do this. I then un-click the 'start torrent' box in uTorrent and then go to Deluge Web UI and add torrent by browsing for the torrent file(not the actual movie/show/flac) on my hard drive then adding it and then the torrent starts downloading to the Evobox. It works but its such an arse about face way of doing it, surely there is a better way to do this?

if your having problems lodge a ticket with support and ask them for help, it may be your best bet

Well the trouble is I'm not sure if my issue constitutes a 'problem'. Maybe thats the way its supposed to work? I don't know.

Seriously am I the only person on T.I. who is with Evoboxes and uses Deluge?
