    Default SFTP Software

At the moment I'm using FileZilla as my SFTP software to take downloaded torrents down from my seedbox but I've read online somewhere that SFTP speeds can vary depending on the software you are using, I know CuteFTP was talked about favourably. What are people using? I think I want to try something else, FIleZilla seems fast enough to me but I'd like a scheduler and a better "time remaining" indicator - FileZilla just lists this per file rather than for the queue as a whole. Any recommendations for SFTP software that offers the above?

    Thanks.

Cheers though, I'm looking at the features of those two now...

    I'm using WinSCP:
WinSCP :: Free SFTP and FTP client for Windows

Simple enough to use, but I have no idea if it will increase speeds.

filezilla is absolutely great cause it support unicode, for "world" music transfer and any non-standart characters it's a must
as for cuteftp, its big advantage is that it can download one file with up to 8th parallel threads, so if one thread is too slow due to bad routing to your server, you can try it

Thanks for the replies. I'm actually 'only' using FileZilla because I had it installed already for a previous one-off bit of FTP. Tiny file sizes though so it didn't really matter what program I used. The multiple character type support it has is good to know. Within the settings I cranked up the threads to ten so maybe FileZilla is a decent choice after all? I think I will install CuteFTP or try and find a non-install thumb drive-type version of it to see if I can see any speed difference between the two. If there is then I think I could save myself a few hours of my life by trying a few other alternatives like those mentioned above.

So yeah, thanks for the input - it's full-size blu-ray I'm FTP-ing down from my seedbox so it's time-consuming stuff! When re-checked on my desktop machine the .torrents come up as 100% complete (I've done a few already) so FZ is at least doing the job right!

^ Thanks for that! $3 is a bargain and there is a certain irony to using SFTP with pirated "portable" FTP software!

    - FileZilla messed up last night during the transfer of an 18GB folder. Or specifically the large m2ts blue-ray file so I'm keen to install an alternative.

Okay - WOW the difference between FileZilla is like 56k (anyone else here old enough to remember that lol?!) and a 1GB line! Just... wow! I have 50MB downstream at home and it's maxed it out at 52MB/s using CuteFTP - an 18GB folder is taking an hour to come down (vs. being quoted six hours using FileZilla!) - that's $3 well spent! Thanks for the tip!

Only "issue" is I can only seem to connect to the seedbox using regular FTP instead of SFTP. That could be a temporary thing and/or me not really knowing what I'm doing with FTP lol.
