I see that it said it has sub accounts so Im assuming you could. If you do I would watch on how many torrents you and your friend have running at same time. Reason for that is the 250MB RAM it will slow you down if too many are running. I see they use TF-b4rt that is somewhat of a resource hog as it is. Are you splitting the cost with him/her? IMO with the HDD size and RAM you wouldn't want to run any more than 4-6 torrents at any given time. I should have my box set up this weekend and will be setting up accounts, give me a pm and let me know what youre looking for. I'm not a business so I'd be willing to work around your budget.

I have to disagree. I keep a swift account just for the purposes of not cluttering up any of my dedicated boxes with boatloads of audio torrents. I've currently got almost 60 torrents running on a box shared with God only knows how many other users and the server load is only .34. For $10 a month, that's one of the best deals going. Just know that your throughput is limited b/c of HD speed. You could host 100 torrents and only be running 3 or 4 at a time and have a low load, or you could be hosting 10 torrents and running the all at high throughput which will tax the hell out of the server.

However, a word to the wise, be careful who you choose to share a box with. If you're buddy starts downloading kiddie porn or something, you will be sharing a cell with him and his new best friend bubba.

But wouldn't it be a little different with larger files? With audio files I just use home connection because they are easier to seed back. Also with his desired plan at $40 he will be sharing a 50GB HDD so thats basically 10 DVDR's give or take. I'm assuming he is getting box for larger files. Basically 5 a piece. So you will be limited in active torrents ( between the 2 of you) if you plan on downloading large files. At $10/month plan it would have to be audio or small files considering you only have 10GB of HDD with a bandwidth limit of 150GB. Sure you could dl large files on that plan but you would have to stick with one certain site if you wanted to work on your ratio. A 150GB would be gone within a week, well with me anyway.

So buying the torrentswift $10 plan, it is basically like buying a 150GB upload for $10

Same as from the way I see it. You give them $10 and they let you transfer 150GB worth of material.

Check out seedboxhosting. You can create sub accounts there and are on a unmetered tranfser plan with a 100/100 pipe. I think they have 50 gig drives.
