Bought the semidedideal package about 2 weeks ago now, just renewed for another month. Speeds are great, and they offer you 3 different rtorrent interfaces (rutorrent, wtorrent, rtgui). ruTorrent interface is great and its the one I use. For FTP access they have FTP with TSL/SSL, but I would rather prefer SFTP with SSH. (but its not such a big deal). There isnt VPN access with the semidedideal (no my knowledge), and its probably because its shared between a total of 3 users. You also get to use your seedbox as a proxy server when you purchase. Proxy was really fast, no lag at all I couldnt even tell the difference between it and my direct home connection while surfing. And lastly in case your wondering my seedbox is located in Spain close to Madrid (if that matters)

I am actually contemplating to get a semi-dedicated server at Xirvik. I was wondering which server loaction i should choose. I'm located in Singapore.
My concerns are:

• The speed for me to upload files to the seedbox.
• The best location for the seedbox so that upload speeds are at peaks.

I'm getting a seedbox mainly to increase my upload speeds as my current home broadband connection gives me a miserable 130kB/s max.

I'm not too concerned about my download speeds as i'm satisfied with it for now. :001_smile:

I'm purty darn happy with my box.

The speeds have been fantastic and the customer service is excellent. Turn-around time is about 24 hours depending on whether or not they have a box ready for you. FTP is super fast too.

My only complaint is that I have to switch GUIs (and they have 3 of them) to add a torrent. They have "rTorrent + ruTorrent" or "rTorrent + wTorrent" or "rTorrent + rtGui." I can only add torrents with wTorrent, which is kind of a bummer because I prefer the ruTorrent interface.

I got burned with Biohost a little while ago and was pleasantly please with xirvik. I'll post again if anything happens to change my mind, but so far, so good! I reccomend it!

Hamburger helper I can in everything in ruTorrent.

Same for me, adding torrents works in wtorrent and in rutorrent for me (never tried on rtgui, since I dont use it)

Yeah, I found out that it was Firefox, for some reason, not letting me add torrents through the ruTorrent interface. Therefore, I rescind my previous negative comment. Guess there's nothing bad about xirvik afterall :laugh:

Yeah, cuteFTP pro is the way to go.
I used filezilla and my speeds really sucked.
It was well worth buying the pro version.
