    Default DJ Application

Everyone looking to DJ, just state you are interested in here, then join IRC and type /msg outdoors30 DJ - If I don't immediately respond, you can also message Sky_ or GPaX.

    - The prerequisites listed below are now considered optional and you are only required to post in here that you are interested - cheers.

Anyone interested in DJ'ing for T-I Radio should reply to this thread.

Please state any relevant information, including but not limited to:

    • Prior experience
    • Music preferences
    • Available days and times (include your time zone, or CST if you want to make it super convenient for me)
    • Why you're interested in being a DJ
    • What unique or interesting qualities you could bring to the station

    -

    AFTER APPLYING:

Hello new DJ's. Here will be a basic guide to help you start out DJing here at TI-Radio.

    Things you will need:

    1. Access and HalfOp (%) to #DJ channel.
    a. Ask outdoors30 or Sky_ (me) for access in IRC. (#Torrent-Invites or #TI-Radio)
    2. A program which can broadcast to a shoutcast radio.
    a. The most popular are: Virtual DJ (Mac/Windows) and SAM Broadcaster (Windows)
    I. Virtual DJ can be downloaded at IPTorrents and SAM Broadcaster is available at request.
    3. The access information to get on the Radio Login page.
    a. This is given inside #DJ when you have HalfOp. A guide on how to use the Radio Webpage is here .
    4. The password to the radio so you may broadcast.
    a. You will be given this inside #DJ.

TL;DR: You need access to #DJ, a program the is able to broadcast to shoutcast, access to our login page, and the password to our shoutcast server.

Things you will need to do:

    1. Join #DJ
    2. Get access to the webpage.
    3. Pick a program and download it.
    4. Go to the Webpage FAQ and learn how to use our Radio Webpage.
    5. Get the password for the shoutcast server.
    6. Go to the Configuration FAQ to learn how to setup your program.
    7. Turn Off AutoDJ and start DJing.

    Rules and Things to Know:

    1. Never, EVER click 'Stop Server'!
    2. AutoDJ (Activate Source) must be turned On after you have finished your session (Source Status will be Online).
    3. AutoDJ (Deactivate Source) must be turned Off before you start your session (Source Status will be Remote).
    4. Port 9005 MUST be open for the Stream Title to be fed to the Stream.
    5. Make sure your firewall is not blocking your program.
    6. Songs must be in MP3 format.

If you have not read all of this, you will encounter a problem and be told to read it again. So please, read carefully. We took the time out of our day to show you how to do it, so take the time out of your day to read it.

prior experience: i did it here before! =D

Music Preferences: Everything - mostly. Im fairly selective when it comes to anything electronic and Very little country whereas lately my favorites have been more college.rock, punk, experimental, jazz, down.tempo, folk and some others.

Available Days/Timezone: EST i believe its -1 for CST. Im available most days for at least a couple hours that i would be willing to devote to the radio. Weekends are worse for me in general as is Wednesday. Aside from that my schedule is fairly open baring any strange work schedule or other dealings.

Why im interested: Because im awesome. Also i have fantastic music taste that i think other people should hear. I think music can be a hard thing to find more of sometimes and i think that people who like the same music as i do may learn a couple new ones they may not have heard before as well as I may learn a couple new favorites through requests that i hadnt heard before.

How im interesting: Once again i'm amazingly awesome. I'm not sure. i doubt i have a super sexy voice and aside from my fairly unique music taste im not sure what else i could do. I'd be happy to do what i could to help. I have ratio to burn on other peoples play requests and im a fairly easy going person (i think!). I would of course be active in IRC while on the radio.

I had a lot of fun playing music last time and id love to do it again.

Jenna Edit: Josh is hired because I say so. :P No seriously, former T-I DJs definitely have priority here, so consider yourself the first appointed DJ. Also, I love your music which is always a plus.

If you all could be somewhat specific on days and times, that would be helpful.
It's not indicative that it will be set in stone, but it'll help give me an idea of what
kind of schedule we'll be running on and where gaps will need to be filled.

Josh, hollar at me in IRC if and when you get a chance. Thanks buddy.

Prior Experience: Created a podcast for my old MOHAA gaming clan years ago. Still create mixes on 8tracks.com when the mood hits. I can pm you a link to some the mixes if you like.

Music Preferences: A bit here and there... Mainly stay between 40's big band to 90's rock for my current personal listening.

Availability: I am in CST... Can do most weekends for an hour or so [ afternoons most likely between 2 to 4 p.m. ] and maybe an hour during most weekdays [ around 7 p.m. one day during the week and depending if I have to work late or not ].

Why interested: I have always had a broad taste in music. Currently, I have about 10k+ songs and they range from 1600's classical to recent hits. I have been told that I can a good voice [ years of practice on a call center can do that to a person ].

What qualities that I bring: One, I am more than willing to assist in this. Two, I have a far-ranging taste in music. Three, I have put an hour long show together for my old podcasts. Four, I think that this is a good way too bring out other forms of music that some people may have never heard before.

I personally do not have the time to actively DJ, but all my music is hosted on my subsonic server and could easily be used.

The T-I radio cannot start until we get more DJs, just letting you all know.

No experience is required. Everything you need to know will be explained to you in detail.
All that is required is a bit of your time. If you're interested or have questions, please post
in here so we can get this under way as soon as possible. Thanks guys and gals!

    OOH can i apply?

    Prior experience:
Contrary to popular belief I am not only a Bieber fan, i also like music from other artists such as rebecca black and selena gomez. I have DJ'd at a outdoor festival here in Canada.. its called RibFest aha, and no I did not play Bieber songs exculsively
Music preferences: My name says it all. Kidding. I also have a large collection of music that I can play this includes country, rock, mostly hip-hop and rap though
Available days and times: i prefer friday late evening to midnight or on the weekends
Why you're interested in being a DJ: to show the T-I community about my true passion and love for music ;)
I'm sure many people will be intrigued by my music choices :)
What unique or interesting qualities you could bring to the station

I will amaze people with my awesome username and legiit DJ skills :)

    • Prior experience: None really, I've made plenty of playlists for parties and stuff but never any real DJs, I'm often in charge of music because I have a super diverse taste and extensive library.

    • Music preferences: Literally everything, the only genre I don't enjoy is country music lol. I have an extensive library of very unique and differing music styles.

    • Available days and times: I'm off four days a week (mon-thurs) all day, could do it any of those days pretty much any time, Fri Sat and Sun would be a no go as I work 12 hour shifts on those days.

    • Why you're interested in being a DJ: for the e-peen of course, plus all the sweet cyber groupies! on a serious note it would just be nice to expose people to some of the music I enjoy and hopefully share some new bands and expand the artist's I enjoy's fan bases.

    • What unique or interesting qualities you could bring to the station: I listen to a variety of music and would likely change to a different genre of music every week. Also i'm docdoom, dunno if you ever heard of me :P
