Thread: DJ Application

Hi,

Prior Experience - I used to host a show on a pirate radio station near where I lived.



Music Prefrences - looks like a cliched answer but i'm into everything. I listen to rock, folk, easy listening, bit of metal, funky house, drum and bass, bit of classical, and probably anything else inbetween.

Availabilty - live in England and am on GMT so available most evening from 10pm over the weekends and during the week, except tuesdays.

Why Interested - always loved music and since doing it over the airwaves thought this is a good chance do it from the comfort of my own room!

Unique, interesting qualities - not sure I have anything particularly unique about my radio presence but I can bring a certain cheeky chappy, salt of the earth, diamond geezer, cockney quality to proceedings. That and the ability to form coherant sentences along with never saying 'haitch'!!!!!

Prior experience: I never was DJ before.
Music preferences: I like all slightly. Rock, pop, trance, punk, metal.
Available days and times (include your time zone, or CST if you want to make it super convenient for me): I’m available all week between 6 pm – 10/11 pm. My time zone is (UTC) Lisbon.
Why you're interested in being a DJ: I’m interested in being a DJ because TI it’s a great community and have a lot of members, I liked to give good music to them (people) :P
What unique or interesting qualities you could bring to the station: I have good music to pass, and a lot of music, and musics that everyone knows, I think the people would like me.

The only requirement at the moment is that you have a mic.

Expirence, I have extensive music tastes and my father made damn sure i had a healthy interest in all music. My father was a muician I may not have learned to play an instrument but i gre to love all the old classics right down to today's music

Um My music prefereances are, Rock, some deathmetal (no screamo) alternative rock, classic rock (as far back as 1970's alice cooper) Industrial, some techo and rock/industrial groups like nine inch nails and william control.

I can play anytime an all day.. all I do really is listen to music as I surf the web

Because im an attention whore. lol no I just love music and like to share my own personal music tates with others. Also im not so arrogant to believe that everyone loves my music so I keep an open mind and throw in stuff I may not exactly like/love but others will.

Im quirky and funny I can do radio talk if need to.

Ive played in some gigs before
Music preferences:
trance,Techno,House; sometimes rock like nirvana,gnr,radiohead; other times funk like prince or james brown, soul like the classics ottis,gaye,etc
Available:
Mostly during the night from 23h to 2h (spanish time) from monday to thursday
Interested:
I love music and share it with people is the best
Qualities:
dadication and love for the music

Prior experience
- I've had about 3 years experience with Virtual DJ as well as playing at a lot of house parties and clubs for events.


Music preferences
- Dubstep, Drum and Bass, House and Trance.

- I'm from Wales, UK so my timezone is UTC/GMT +1 hour (I think)
I'm able to easily DJ from Money Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4 until anytime. At the current time all days and times are good (summer vacation).


Why you're interested in being a DJ
- I love music and have always loved to see that other people can make a multitude of tracks sound like one very long and flawless song that makes everyone go insane and dance their hearts out!


What unique or interesting qualities you could bring to the station
- I have a mic? Nah, I'm able to give off my own spin of tunes with a nice flowing and interesting mix of tunes of a multitude of genres that will hopefully keep people hooked to the radio!

Prior Experience: I used to DJ at a few "local" internet community radios not so different from this one, so you can say I've tried it before.
Music Preferences: It's seems cliché by now so I'm not gonna say everything, as that is not true. My music preference is good music. There are no specific genres in which I haven't found an artist I like as of today. Although I must say I have stronger preferences toward some genres than others, there are no boundries as to what I will play, the term "good" contains many variables and can be good for a wide variety of things. If you haven't noticed, I'm very passionate about music. :p
Availability: Saturday at 9:30pm GMT+1 (2:30pm CST), although I am a very spontaneous person, just saying I might need a bit of flexibility from time to time. :)
Why I'm interested in being a DJ: I've toyed with the thought of making my own radio station or becoming a DJ on a national or international radio for a while now, I like sharing my music taste with other people, and at the same time I would like to perhaps give some good advice, talk about personal development ideas, philosophy, science, or just prank call someone, perhaps interview some interesting people, something. :) I would also like to integrate myself more into the actual community, as I enjoy lurking on this site but have no idea what to post (explaining my low post count), perhaps get some internet contacts. Many of my best friends in the past were people I knew via internet communities, since it's usually a much more open environment, given that people can be whoever they want to be online, and are therefore more open and themselves. Oh yeah, and just for the fuck of it.
What unique qualities can you bring to the station: I do believe I will have a funny, yet interesting radio persona, I am impulsive and random, yet intelligent and serious. I have a lot to share, my experiences and knowledge, while doing it in a fun, inner child-like way. I'm also a pretty good organizer, and if I'm free to evolve I'll probably manage contests, call-in shows, Skype conference talk shows, whatever I feel like at given point.
