Windows 7 - Taskbar - I can't change the color fix

Hi guys, well i had this issue with my imax pc.
some info, ok most computers say to make your own back up disks.
but when you use the back up disks ( this happens to some pepole)
windows 7 task bar will go to the bog standard light blue bar.

fix one: grapichs card.

and when you try change it, this comes up & not what should come up with windows 7 when doing this..



and this sucks. after looking around & doing driver updates software.

i found a littel fix it only simple & not hard.

ok first you need to go to START,Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools.

run the assesment!

then check your grapics bit is above 3.0 ( reason windows aero wont work with a lower score than 3.0)
which means you wont be able to change it.



download: driver-detective (google it, dont know if i can post download link)

ok run driver-detective & look for the up-date






just to show you other driver apps dont work as good.
as you can see here. this driver does not show up on this pic here below.




ok so its highlighted Red, copy what ever information it says.
i.e. Nvidia ION

i know other have diffrent grapics cards so i can not say what to update
the best bet is to copy that information then go to your grapics card site and download the driver,

then run the assesment again! & it should be fixed!

i know you can do this many more ways this just worked for me.
so i just wanted to show you guys here.

also i know what your thinking, why do all that?...
i just wanted to show you in detail.

EDIT: also many ppl dont want to pay for the software, but downaloding it and scaning is free.
but if you have the software and can up-date then thats perfect.

Fix two: mirror drive blocking

Try the below steps and check if this helps.
1. Click on start button, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Now in the device manager expand Display adapters, under this you should be able to see Mirror Driver.
3. Right-click on it and select properties.
4. In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
5. After the uninstalling the drivers restart the computer. This should automatically install proper drivers for it.


Mirror Driver are mostly used by vpn (Virtual private network)/remote desktop tools/Windows Live Mesh. Removing this driver may resolve such issues.
