Default [How-To] Shutdown your PC after X Minutes - Without any Tools/Bloatware

    Hi T-I-Members,

I would like to share a trick which I figured out few years ago in a pc-mag.
The main advantages are that you won't need any boatware or external tools and you can even do it with your PC, or with the PCs of Others...

How to shutdown your PC after X minutes

    1. Click somewhere on your Desktop with the right-button of your mouse.

    2. Look for 'New..' and click on 'Shortcut'.

    3. A Windows will popup and which will ask you to enter the destination of your file.

    4. Press the search button (next to the white input bar) and enter
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe
    and click on 'next'.

    5. Give your Shortcut a name, like Shutdown01 or whatever you like and press 'Done'.

    6. Now you will see a pre-named file on your desktop.

    7. Choose the File by clicking your right mouse button and go now to the last item of the context-menu called 'Properties'. Click on it.

There should be two points, one called 'shortcut' and another called 'target'. Just check the target-bar there should be now this:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe
    8. Now you have to add this at the end of the target-bar:
    -s -f -t 60
Just copy N'paste this, because there is always a space between every value.

What do this values mean ?

-s = Command to shutdown Windows
-f = Command to shutdown all active/open windows
-t = define the countdown time in seconds, after the shortcut is clicked.

    So,the value 60 means 1min-Shutdowntime, 600 means 10mins, 3600 means 1 hour and so on.
You can choose the value which you like.

Just Double-Click your shortcut and a nice windows built-in timer will popup and do the rest for you.
    Done.

    Hope you like this Tutorial.

    Greetings,
    heloxblue
