Disable Shortcut Icon Arrow Overlay in Windows 7 or Vista
The shortcut icons in Windows Vista have Huge arrows on them. If you are worried about the look of your desktop, you may not want to see the ugly arrows.
You can download a small, free utility from Frameworkx.com that will easily let you remove the shortcut arrows without having to do any registry patches. See how easy it is:

Nice find, though I'm not sure I care enough about the icon to install program. Might do in the future though.
At first I thought it was a one time thing too but you need to have the program installed to have your icons remain sexy, I don't mind though as it's pretty small in size and never runs in the background :)
This is pretty nifty :) usually I don't really mind the arrow But if some free time hits when I'm home I might consider giving it a try
