Amazing rather unknown Brit Rocker, guy knows how to come up with some itneresting licks.
Again, I gotta go with my man Frank Zappa. On his posthumous live release called FZ:OZ, there is a song called "Zoot Allures", which is the ninth track on the second disc. At approximately 7:49 (yes, he does looong instrumentals), a guitar solo called "Ship Ahoy" begins. That right there is the best!
david gilmour on 'time'. that solo is still one of the best. he does a bend around 4:10 and it's like the guitar is screaming, it's so good. i'm pretty sure i read or saw something about that album where it said they had the amps super loud, that's why you can really feel that power.
