any over the ear headphone from Sennheiser even remotely in the same price range would be better. The 555's for one (in both my opinion and many other music enthusiasts) are better than the overpriced dre beats.

I got the studio one and the sound is just amazing, I also got the PC 360 sennheiser one for my computer and the sound is great also.

Both are for different usage. The beats are really stylish, when you go out with them it makes people turn around lol (you also pay for that).

I have a pair of the studio...amazing sound quality, to say the least. Definitely worth picking up.

For about $100-150 less I opted for the Audio Technica ATH-M35 headphones. Out of about 7 sets I tried, these were by far the best. They sound great, and have just the right amount of bass.

Unfortunately, Monster's markups are retarded. Beats by Dr. Dre headphones sound great, but their cheap feel doesn't justify the high price.

When picking Sennheisers, not every model sounds good. They have soooo many different models it's tough to pick the right one. The HD212 models seems to be popular.

I'd highly recommend the Sennheiser HD555's for that price range. I've had mine for almost a year and think they are great. My friend has the 595's and I find them a little more comfortable and they sound a little better for some songs (I think). They are a lot more though so I'll be sticking it out with the 555's for a good while yet.
