some country guitarists are fantastics
It's absurd to try and personally invalidate an entire musical genre because, let's be honest- you probably haven't exposed yourself to anything more than a small sampling of that genre. Wilco and Counting Crows, for instance, are two excellent bands that are both heavily influenced by country stylings, yet most people fail to recognize the country influence. They don't know what country is, but they say they hate it.
... Hating the stereotypical country song, on the other hand, is a very different matter.
