Thread: Need recommendations for good electronica/techno music...

I've always liked all kinds of music, but I never really had a chance to get into electronica. Since some people here seem to really be into electronica, I wonder if people might be able to recommend some good compilation albums that would give me some exposure to the different types of electronica.



I've heard that Hed Kandi is good. They're a little more commercial, which would be a good introduction for a novice. But what do you guys think?

I like the Hed Kandi stuff....also Ministry of Sound is a good general label to get your feet wet. You might need to narrow your search down a bit. I'm not so much into techno, but I love some Breaks and House (classic, progressive, gospel). There are a bunch of good on-line radio stations that you can tune into for a taste of various genres as well. Like I said, it just depends on what you are looking for.

Daft Punk (obvi), Ratatat, Justice.
they are all very different, but all very good. I'm listening to Justice the most atm.

Ellen Allien - just impressive!
Paul Kalkbrenner - awesome... i love it!
Stephan Bodzin - don't fear, there are some new innovative sounds!
Nathan Fake - freaky music for freaky poeple!
Extrawelt - look a bit deeper into the electronic world!
