Elvis Presley and The Rolling Stones for sure :) I'd say Scorpions too, but they were just starting then..

Jimi Hendrix.

Well i guess you could say jimi hendrix and elvis did have a band behind them so i guess that counts in a way, they were SOLO acts though, with supporting bands. Bit different.
