Thread: Trance, rising or going down ?

I have listened trance since childhood, when i was 9 and always loved this genre of music. Actually in that time everybody did. Trance is one of the first genres of elektronik music, i think more than 15 or more years have passed. the problem stays here : is trance nowadays rising, going through next levels of audience, rythmn and sounds, or it is just going down and people are listening more and more house. Is house replacing trance music, is it stealing trance fans heart ?
For my opinion the best trance djs, Tiesto, ATB, Paul van Dyke, Armin van Buuren are working hard to save trance, they are always trying to make new experiments with new sounds and melodies, sometimes mixing house with trance, like Armin does, and by doing this they make people feel better about their favorite genre, not as an old genre, but as an epic genre which will always survive through years and please its fans.
What is your opinion about this ?

In Dallas, tx it sure is. Idk why but its def showing up more and more at parties. There has been a few trance songs on the radio too!! Its crazy. People just want to have a good time and listening to trance certainly helps.

Rising definitely. And I'm loving that it gets more popular by the second where I live.

Rising I thinkm but Trance can be only the second genre behind House in popularity. But trance is so much better style I think!

It isn't on mine too, but this doesn't mean that it is going down, it is just that they don't understand it !
And of course it doesn't mean we shouldn't love it, right ?!!!

There is no doubt that as a whole house is by-passing trance, you really just need to look at beatport top 10 to figure that one out. Not one trance track and pretty much all house. Not only is house bypassing trace by a long shot, but the trance that is being released is, like Paul Van Dyk said, really cheesy shit (Although i still give props to tiesto and armin).
