Thread: The White Stripes versus The Black Keys

Both are bands from one of the neighboring northern states of Michigan and Ohio, are comprised of only two members (a drummer and singer/guitarist), have opposite colors as a part of their three-word (including the definite article "the") band name, and both are blues influenced rock...



So which one do you like better (smartass responses are encouraged)?

Tough choice there. Black Keys have a more bluesy feel to it but i dunno, both a great talented bands. TIE!!

I respect both bands and think that they both produce music which is about 90% better than any other crap on the radio. Personally, I'm not huge on either of them but if I had to pick then I think The White Stripes have managed to make their own sound which is constantly changing... but that IS their sound, if you get what I mean? Their songs don't sound too similar to each other, whereas I think The Black Keys songs do. Ya dig? :laugh:

True, but The White Stripes' songs are either god awful or freakin' awesome with hardly any just being okay. The Black Keys can at least toe the middle or be great without ever sounding terrible. Also, The Black Keys' drummer isn't a one trick pony like that less than mediocre Meg White.
