Default Let's talk indie and/or obscure

Okay people, I see and get involved with a lot of chatter about mainstream and popular bands and artists, but let's discuss those groups or individuals who are below the radar. In this thread, I would like you folks to drop the name of the best relatively unknowns you know. I'll start:

Archers of Loaf, Blitzen Trapper, Electric Frankenstein, Heartless Bastards, Jurassic 5, Monsta Island Czars, Pavement, Portugal. The Man, That 1 Guy, The Saints...

I'm sure I'll think of more later. It's your turn now.

Indie is in the mainstream now so is it really that obscure?

If you mean proper indie then I'd have to say: Dax Riggs, everything he does is amazing!

I've really been digging Bear Hands, Matt & Kim, How I became the bomb and the harlem shakes among others I can't remember right now.

It is strange that an indie band can be a hugely successful commercial band nowaddays. Not exactly what ya think when you heard the word indie.

You guys' (I mean that in a gender neutral sense) comments about indie music being commercially successful nowadays are valid. I just want to hear stuff that the radio hasn't killed through over-playing. Things will get broken around me in a haze of rage and annoyance if I have to hear "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" one more time. Argh!
