Default Great albums you've found this past year.

I'm a big fan of the album over the single. I like the complete work and what goes into it, but these days most artists try to put out just that one song, and ride the laurels of that. So another question I have for the TI community is what great albums have you discovered this past year and why? It doesn't have to be new.

    Me I've loved:
The rural alberta advantage - hometowns
reminds me of home, they are consistent with their theme, and they convey a great sense of nostalgia in there lyrics.
    Cut Copy - Zonoscope
    All 80's all the time.
The Stranglers - No More Heroes.
Great punk band, great album, keep it a little bit dirty.

An album I've rediscovered recently has been Origin Of Symmetry by Muse.
The whole album is truly stunning.

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning by Bright Eyes is another.

If you are a bit like me, if you are into folk metal, there is a wonderful band from Hungaria called KerecsenSólyom.
I discovered them a few months ago and they're effing great !

Here are some of my favorites from last year.

    Bombay Bicycle Club - flaws
Azam Ali - Elysium For The Brave
Steve Lukather - Alls well that ends well

I had never heard about these artists and discovered them last year.

Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank

I am in love with this album!
It's by far my favorite album that I've discovered this year.

People always told me this was the worst Modest Mouse album, but I respectfully disagree as it is currently my favorite.

Radiohead - The King of Limbs
TV on the Radio - Nine Types of Light
Fitz & The Tantrums - Pickin' Up the Pieces

All have come out pretty recently, and the Radiohead and TVOTR albums are pretty much their own genre, which I really like.
