Adam Curtis is a documentary filmmaker for the BBC, known for his use of extensive archive footage. His best known series are:

The Century of The Self (2002) - About the birth of modern advertising and PR, and how Freud's ideas have been used by politicians and businesses to influence the public.

The Power of Nightmares (2004) - Details and compares the rise of the Neo-Conservative movement in the US with the rise of radical Islam in the Middle East. Curtis argues in the film that the organised nature of radical Islamist groups, and al-Qaeda in particular, has been overstated in order to frighten the public.

The Trap: What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom (2007) - Explores the meaning of freedom and liberty in the modern world. The first episode focuses on the use of Game theory by the US in the Cold War.

Any other Adam Curtis fans on here? I count Century of the Self as among my favourite documentaries. As far as I know, none of these have been released on DVD or shown outside the UK, so if you haven't seen them look on Google Video or try the tracker UKNova.
