Thread: Tron: Legacy

Has anybody seen TRON: Legacy yet?

I'll give my review; don't worry, no spoilers.

To start off, I'd like to say how disappointed I was. I'm not a fan of Tron (never heard of it before, to be honest) - but considering the hype before the movie premiered, including the actors involved, the CGI, etc, I felt the need to go and see this movie. I paid almost twice the price of my normal ticket to watch Tron in 3D.

Perhaps my high expectations were what made me so easily disappointed. The CGI was amazing, it was stunning, it was very, very visually appealing - no doubt about that. It was better than Avatar's - but the story itself was dreadful. Admittedly I'm not one of those people who appreciate movies aesthetically, I'm one for the story, and Tron was a let down in that aspect.

The story was slow, the character development was quite slow and sometimes it had gotten lost in the movie; that you kind of stop and think if you're just really.. watching a big video game.



The visual appeal itself is almost enough of a reason to go and see this movie, but let me give you an advice: Don't go watching it with high expectations. Don't go if you're more for the story over appearance. Just go, relax, don't think, watch, and appreciate.

I saw it in the regular 3D theater last night. I was hoping to see it in IMAX 3D, but unfortunately both theaters were sold out.

Anyways, I agree with Vogue on most of the points made. The CGI is truly amazing, but the plot was really bland. The dialogue were also really dry at times. I think I dozed off on a few occasions. Although, that might be because it was getting fairly late. I knew the movie was going to be cheesy so I didn't have such high expectations. I came out fairly pleased with my $15.50 spent.

I fully understand the whole movie. Weird. I might be a tech junkie, but the story line wasnt hard to follow at all. Very good graphics and CGI. I can rate this movie 8.5/10. What can you expect, I didn't even know the original storyline of the game, but I can admit the storyline in the begininng was slow at first. But after everything got in high gear, it was action packed all the way! Didn't see it in 3D, but going to pay for it and rewatch it again!

Waiting for the BR-Rip release.

I definitely think the graphics and the cgi in 3d and the soundtrack of the film made it worthwhile to see it in theatres. The plot was ok , it could have been better but I was satisfied.

I actually expected more 3D effects.. Don't know if it's just me, but I think the 3D wasn't that good...
The story was garbage(in my opinion)... Music was awesome
