Thread: The Simpsons VS. Family Guy

i voted for The Simpsons .. the best

Both are good. At the moment i would say family guy is winning, as before maybe 2 years ago simpsons was by far the best. I now think family guy is losing its touch again and the simpsons are making a come back!

South park is a dire program which i have never watched and never wish to watch :)

Both are very good shows, I think it's hard to judge really, both not really the same style of humor.
However, I still vote Family Guy :), I enjoy it better.

Simpsons was the original cartoon for adults, so that has to be respected. But Family Guy is funnier imho.

I downloaded every episode of The Simpsons (including the shorts from the Tracy Ulman Show) and started watching them from the very first episode. I am about half way through season 17 and I am still laughing at most of the episodes. True is isn't like it was in seasons prior but for a show to be funny after 17 seasons I think speaks volumes. Family Guy, I fear, has taken a turn for the worst. I feel their jokes are either too predictable now or just not funny. I feel like they are going just for shock value instead of trying to be funny now and it pains me to watch it because the early seasons were SO funny. I think it was because Seth MacFarlane was still struggling to make it a show and had to put more effort into it.
