    Runtime: 163 min

    R. Rendi

    Description:
Near a gray and unnamed city is the Zone, an alien place guarded by barbed wire and soldiers. Over his wife's numerous objections, a man rises in the dead of night: he's a stalker, one of a handful who have the mental gifts (and who risk imprisonment) to lead people into the Zone to the Room, a place where one's secret hopes come true. That night, he takes two people into the Zone: a popular writer who is burned out, cynical, and questioning his genius; and a quiet scientist more concerned about his knapsack than the journey. In the deserted Zone, the approach to the Room must be indirect. As they draw near, the rules seem to change and the stalker faces a crisis.

Krótki film o zabijaniu (1988) aka A Short Film About Killing

    Rating: 8.2/10 2,801 votes
    Runtime: 81
    Language: Polish
    Country: Poland
    Color: Color
IMDb Link: A Short Film About Killing (1988) - IMDb

    Director: Krzysztof Kieslowski
    Cast:
    Miroslaw Baka ... Jacek Lazar
Krzysztof Globisz ... Piotr Balicki (Advocate)
Jan Tesarz ... Waldemar Rekowski (Taxi driver)
    Zbigniew Zapasiewicz ... Przewodniczacy Komisji
    Barbara Dziekan ... Bileterka
    Aleksander Bednarz ... Kat
    Jerzy Zass ... Naczelnik
    Zdzislaw Tobiasz ... Judge
    Artur Barcis ... Young Man
    Krystyna Janda ... Dorota
    Olgierd Lukaszewicz ... Andrzej

Description: Expanded from Kieslowski's famed European TV series Decalogue (Episode VI was adapted into A Short Film About Love), A Short Film About Killing potrays the tragic, parallel destinies of a cab driver, drifter, and lawyer in Warsaw with chilling effect. A young drifiter, Jacek, brutally murders a taxi driver for no comprehensible reason. An idealistic young lawyer is assigned to the case, but when his client is sentenced to death he is riled by the injustices of the legal system. A powerful rebuke to a world that fights violence through ritualized capital punishment, but still sensationalizes and perpetuates it, Kieslowski's land-mark film depicts a decaying society as barbaric as the crimes it outlaws. It also started a debate that led to the abolition of the death penalty in Poland.

    according to me,

his real masterpiece film is eraserhead. less money and limited possibilities is not important int this. with perfectly created closed and apocalyptic atmosphere, eraserhead is real treasure for seventh art.

but you may not understand movie in the end too :)

    in general, surreal movies.
some Lynch works are psychological too.
    Great artist.
but Inland Empire is a disaster. who makes a movie based on personal night dreams?!
