Default Does anyone else insist on not watching TS or CAM rips?

I always wait for something that is at least DVD rip quality before diving in. I constantly see TS rips topping the download charts, and it makes me wonder if I'm alone in doing this.

Heck, with Inception and Scott Pilgrim there's a DVD rip, but I'm even tempted to wait until a 720/1080p rip comes out because I hear so many good things about the special effects in those movies, and I want to watch it in top top quality. I'll admit, this might be taking things a bit far though - DVD rips are usually good enough.

    Anyone else feel similar?

agreed. i've seen cam rips where people have stood up. so there's this huge human shadow in the middle of the screan (how awesome is that). plus the sound quality isn't the best of things.

i usually wait for dvd rips but r5's are basically the same (you just have to pick up the right one). r5's are out 2-3 months later that cam rips but it's worth the wait. i want quality!

i guess people just want to see the story and tell people if it's a good movie or not. brag to your friends that you have seen smth that hasn't come out in your local theatres.

i'm with you on that, i don't even bother with cam rips. Quality is too poor for me to enjoy the movie. Last movie I watched that was a cam rip was green zone and it ruined the experience. Just not worth it, so I just wait for a dvd rip.

Cam for the right Cinema feeling :), you can even hear the candy bags get opened.

It was ok for me before when i had a 24 inch tv and tv-speaker sound...

But not on a HD tv in 1920x1080 and a proer sound system..

Nah i never watch TS or CAM versions. I just download them in my seedbox for buffering reasons. I am always waiting until the 720p or 1080p version is out to snatch it and enjoy it.

I also dont like Cam or TS, in fact I rarely watch DVDrips anymore. If you got a nice HD screen and a great surround sound system, once you gone HD, its hard to watch lower quality movies anymore.

It depends on the quality. If the picture and sound are decent for the most part and it's a movie I really want to see then I'll watch a cam of it, however we all know that they are not perfect and in some cases you must go through a few versions before finding a decent one.

Although anymore these days unless it's a mega hit like Avatar movies tend to make it to DVD and Blu-Ray so much quicker these days so it's better to wait anymore. Of course a few years ago I would have chosen a cam version every time regardless due to the period of time spent waiting for a DVD release.

I used to watch CAM releases occasionally when I was really eager to see the movie. But since I started watching 1080p I can't stand those low quality releases anymore. Even R5's, DVDSCR's or DVDRip's are barely watchable if you have a decent HD TV.

I'm down with it if there's nothing else available. After all, it is free.

I do prefer DVD sources, but you know if I really want to watch the movie and don't feel like going to the theatre, it suffices. Sometimes, the individual rip is better or worse than the average CAM and that makes a difference too.

No I tried it a few times and said why am I going to bother to waste my time and download.

I do like the DVDScreener, most I have seen were pretty good quality.
