Thread: The Expendables

I don't know about you guys, but I think this was the action movie of the year. I saw it on Friday in the cinema and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was gonna be like all those other washed away brainless movies (that are still fun if I may add), but this one actually had a bit of plot and quite original fight/shoot em up scenes.

I especially liked the sound of the ridiculously big machine gun (or should I say cannon) Terry Crews was rampaging with. Not to mention all the big names that were in the movie, and the fact that Stallone is 64 years old now, and can still jump like a crazy rabbit.



But what was a truly funny moment in the cinema (I'm from Croatia btw.) is when Mickey Rourke was telling the story of how he lost his soul in Bosnia. When he said something like: "We killed the evil Serbs" and that they were drinking šljivovica, the crowd in the cinema went WILD, clapping, and cheering. That was epic!
(Side note: Croatia and Serbia were at war from 1991.-1995. - Long story short Serbia attacked, Croatia won, with great losses on both sides.)

So I wonder how will the Serbs take this statement from Mickey Rourke, or will their cinema perhaps censor it out.. :)

Anyway it was one of the better, fun movies I've seen lately. What do you think? :001_smile:

Based on the picture, I only see 30-40+ of ages. Stallone doesn't look like 64. It looks good. I will watch this if it's out on our cinemas.

@rinvite It's a must see in the cinema for any action movie fan. It'll be one of the rare movies I'll probably watch again when the BluRay version comes out :D

I downloaded the movie, but then I decided that it's better to go to the cinemas. So I will go this weekend

It was a little too cheesy for me, I also didnt like the Rambo/Rocky remakes... but I love the original Rambos, Predators, etc...

well, even though the critics didnt like it too much, it is making a lot of money!
