What country was it aired in? Filmed in? What language? Without a little more info to narrow it down someone from every country will probably be able to match it to something that was aired at one point or another.

From your description my mind went straight to Spellbinder produced in 1995 as a join venture between Australia and Poland. Boy in the woods for a camp trip, practical joke goes awry, static electricity, gateway, parallel/alternate world, evil overlords who use technology they don't understand and pass it off as magic to control the medieval peasants.

Aaaah memories, was so young when it first aired. Yay Spellbinder!

The thanks is enough. Glad I could help, thought it would be a long shot, guess they sometimes pay off. Wonder if I should go and hunt down the DVD's for a trip down memory lane.

Almost near the end of season 1. Did you notice the boom mic dropping into frame as well?

Just noticed Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse, True Blood) is in Spellbinder 2. Its going to be hilarious to rewatch.
