Default Clint Eastwood vs. John Wayne

So, a friend and I have been in an argument over who is better: John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. I say Clint Eastwood. What do you guys think? Base your opinion on whatever you would like: who's the better actor, who's movies are better, who you think would win in a fight to the death, whatever.

That's a tough one. They are both accomplished actors so not sure there is any debate about that.

John Waynes real name was "Marion", so you know he took/gave some licks for that in his time. Clint Eastwood once had to swim a few miles from a sinking bomber in the ocean. Both tough enough.

Can't help you. I would gladly share a foxhole with either one.

That's tricky. They're both great actors. Personally I like Eastwood better. The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, for example, was a really great film and one of my favorites (I think it's near the top on IMDB, too).

in my opinion Eastwood is more accomplished as an actor and director besides I never really like the Duke, so Clint all the way

I'm surprised that you've never heard of him. How young are you?

Anyways, John Wayne did a lot of westerns in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, and later did several war movies. He is very well known for the films he did with John Ford, mainly The Searchers and Stagecoach.

I have to say Clint Eastwood, i have 31 of his films and he just gets better with age. Even the films he has dirceted have so many different depths to them and the storylines are so great i.e The Unforgiven, The changeling and so on

Two actors are good but I think Clint Eastwood's "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly" movie is the best. So Clint is better than Wayne. :)
