    Default Paranormal Activity - Overrated?

So.. I saw Paranormal Activity yesterday and I thought it was pretty scary, but don't you guys think that it is a little overrated? I mean.. I won't be having nightmares about it. What do you guys think? No spoilers please.

I saw it a week ago, and I say that it managed to scare most of the audience. I rarely get scared or have nightmares after watching "horror" movies and this wasn't an exception. I do believe that it is a bit overrated, but like any new release it dies down not too far from the release. It was a neat idea, in my opinion, to finally break out of the gore/mutilation/monster cliche. The documentary aspect is what made it seem more realistic or likely to happen in real life. I myself have not had any "paranormal" experiences but there are many out there who say they have, so I was less subjective towards the movie than the latter.
    Cheers.

It is playing somewhat near me, and I a tempted to go see it just for conversational sake. It does seemed a bit hyped to me like many horror movies are, but something seems different. Like you said it breaks away from gory/monster type of movie and takes it to a more realistic, this could happen to you level.

Or I could wait and just download it.

I have not seen it yet, but plan to. I know they said though in a review that the first people who watched it all left b/c they were to scared. The movie might be scary but I know there is no way that it can be to scary to make me stop watching it. When something gets scary it makes me more interested. But I'm sure they are making it out to be more than what it is just to make people curious to go see it. I mean the movie was made I think in what 7 days or something like that?

I grabbed this movie last night and me and the old lady decided to watch it at 1am to make it more intense. Let me tell u that this movie is so over-hyped. I wasted 100 minutes of my life watching this film. I could of got an extra hour or two of sleep if i didnt watch it. In my opinion there was not 1 part in this movie that actually gave me the creeps . I kept saying to my girl "when is all this scary stuff supposed to happen." I kept waiting and waiting, but nothing at all. Thats about it really and this was one of the biggest let downs for me of the year.

This movie is not suppose to be scary. It gets you creeped out, thinking about ghost. To enjoy the movie you have to believe in ghost for a little while. When I went to bed that night after watching it, it kept me startled for a bit.

When i say scary i mean ghost scary , creepy and whatever else. I believe in ghosts and always have and still think this movie was not as good as it is being made out to be. Im not saying its not for other people, but it wasnt for me. I expected so much more then that and it was a huge let down. Put it this way, i get more scared watching a documentary about ghosts on the discovery channel then i did watching this movie.

Well, what about the two different ending? There is a theatrical ending and the ending from the screener thats going around on some movie trackers. Which one is better, if you've seen them both?? Or do you feel it really doesn't make a difference?

I have seen the ending in the Screener and have not seen the other 2 endings. However, I have read those endings. One of them sounds like it is a scarier ending and one sounds like a more gory ending. But the 2 other endings don't sound like they are vastly different from the Screener ending.

2 of the endings have the same outcome with the other being slightly different.

In the end, from the Screener end that I saw and the 2 others that I have read about, it seems like all 3 endings have no real advantage over each other and all of them would be great to watch.
