I just can't believe how poor SGU is. The dumped SGA and SG1 for that ? The only nice scenes in SGU are when Richard Dean Anderson is throwing in some humor. Otherwise this is soooo frackin' disappointing....

I heard they cancelled Atlantis because the reality shows were more popular. Ghost hunters and the like.

My guess, purely on my own observations... enough people said "that's BS, no Sci Fi on syfy? No thanks." Thus, Stargate Universe.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, by the way. I watched the first episode and thought "Hey, it's SGA without the sense of humor."

Don't get me wrong, some of the BSG elements (and I even tried to see if there was a producer/writer connection between BSG and SGU) are good. I'm fine with the show taking it slow...sometimes. The lighting, documentary shots, and music gives us a close connection... to the ship. I barely know these characters. I needs to have a reason to know these people - and not in some sort of Real World confessional moment done in front of a Keno.

But so far, it's all been very slow. Let's see some action. Go through the damn gate. Go find a planet. Fix the plumbing. Something.

Throw in some Michael Shanks, too.

Gah! SPOILER ALERT next time! :001_tongue:
