Default The Perfect Movie and why?

What Movies do you think are perfect. A freak of nature, a chud from another universe, a movie so perfect you lay back at night and think holy shit man.. They couldnt make that film better if everyone on the staff sold their souls to satan.

    My Thoughts..

    Terminator 2.

That movie is a work of freaking art and should be put in a cinema hall of fame somewhere.

    Whats your thoughts?

Perfect movie? There is no such thing as perfect movie, nothing can be perfect, and movies are no exception.

And I would like to hear reasons why do you think those movies you've mentioned are supposedly "perfect".

i think the perfect word is referred as not just the absence of any mistakes in the movie but it means that the viewer is so engrossed in the movie that he couldn't find any other alternative to a particular scene or actor or even the title thus making it 'perfect'.. i mean when you completely love a movie ..you are compltely in a spell of the movie...ofc it may not be the same for every other person..but you know.. thats the meaning of perfect here...btw for me it would be the shawshank redemption if you know what i mean by perfect!

I honestly think both Kill Bill movies were flawless. The action, the story, the cast...there's not a single thing I would change. I can watch both films repeatedly and never tire of them.

There are films that are pretty much perfect, as close as humans can get to such anyway.

A few that come to mind:

Jean Renoir's 'The Grand Illusion' or 'The Human Beast'.

    Zhang Yimou's 'Hero'.

Henri Georges Clousot's 'The Wages of Fear'.

Gary Sinise's 'Of Mice and Men'. One of the best American films ever made.

Sam Peckinpah's 'Ride the High Country'.

    George Stevens' 'Shane'.

Jean Pierre Melville's 'Le Cercle Rouge' or 'Le Samourai'.

    Orson Welles' 'Citizen Kane'.

    Andrei Tarkovsky's 'Stalker'.

    Ingmar Bergman's 'Winter Light'

Akira Kurosawa's 'Ikiru' or 'Seven Samurai'.

    Steven Soderbergh's 'The Limey'.

Howard Hawk's 'Only Angels Have Wings'.

Lau Wai-keung and Alan Mak's 'Infernal Affairs'.

    There's a few.

Agree. There is no such thing as a perfect movie.

I love T2 also and is in my top 10, but even that film has flaws looking back at it, such as the stunt doubles looking different. We, as an audience, are more sophisticated now so production has to be more critical on finding someone that exactly looks the same, and not just put sun glasses on the stuntman, or make the actual actor do the stunts.

I've seen a lot of films, but I have to say Inception would be the "perfect film" - it leaves to endless discussions/interpretations, the casting is top grade, the score, the visual, the story, action, humor, replay value (I can't wait for the film to come on Blu-Ray. I'm really looking forward to Director's commentary!). The best films really sucks you into the film and leaves you chills, which is what this film did.

Other "perfect films" for me would be:
    - American History X
    - Good Will Hunting

A beautiful mind. A perfect film, a perfect mind. Even non-perfect and non-beautiful minds can figure that out
