Thread: Pirates don't influence movie bussiness at all

I have been checking this out and look what i found out

Since 2005 i would say the torrent world has gotten real high and a lot of people can download movies easier. Hollywood is complaining aobut their movies making much less money because of it

So hearing this i would have expected a movie from 2002 to make much more money than a movie from 2005 and above



But when i started checking the stats out it seems the top 7 movies on average gross weekend and total winnings are movies after 2005!

As i said top 7. If pirate share was ruining the movie bussiness so hard then we wouldn't see fucking Dark Night breaking all boxd offices

I would think pirating would impact DVD sales more than box office sales. If there's a movie I want to see, I don't want to watch a crappy cam; I bite the bullet and see it at the cinemas. But I haven't bought a DVD in years lol.

You also have to take inflation into account however. I believe highest total ticket sales is still Titanic. If Titanic was released today would it have sold just as much? Well that's up for debate.

most of movies are downloaded as Dvdscr or r5 anyway
