    Default Really Great Movie Scores.

I'm not talking about soundtracks where it's a compilation of songs by various bands. I'm talking about composed movie scores by geniuses like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Harald Closer, Jerry Goldsmith etc etc.

Sometimes an otherwise mediocre film can be made much MUCH more exhilarating if it has an engaging score. What are some of your favorites? Do you like to listen to score albums?

    Some of my favorites are:

    Inception - Hans Zimmer
    Star Wars - John Williams
    Deception - Ramin Djawadi
    Blade Runner - Vangelis
    The Saint - Graeme Revell
    Heat - Elliot Goldenthal
    Harry Potter - John Williams
    Trevor and Copper like this.

    Tron: Legacy

It's by Daft Punk and it combines elements of electronica along with the orchestral elements of many epic soundtracks.

    Highly recommended!

    1. Gladiator - Hans Zimmer - probably the best I've heard!
    2. The Godfather (I'm not sure if it answers the requirements) - Nino Rota's parts
    3. Once Upon A Time In The West - Ennio Morricone
    4. Once Upon A Time In America - Ennio Morricone
    5. Star Wars - John Williams - of course!

I loved Inception but I'm biased (I was a small part of the team working on the score.)

There Will Be Blood was amazingly well done
Catch Me If You Can is, IMO, John Wiliams' best score of all time (yes, better even than SW or IJ)
Requiem for a Dream is still perhaps my favorite score of all time.
