    Default Getting new android phone

    Hey all

I'm going to get a new cellphone and I want it to be an android.
I've also used HTC before and liked it a lot so that was also a preferred option.
Now I've looked a bit myself and found 2 possibilities: The HTC Desire or Wildfire.

The wildfire is nice because of its low price but scares me also because of the very low resolution and slow processor. Does anyone here have any experience with it? if so, is it any good?

Now the Desire is perfect, have a friend who has one and it's great, but comes with higher price ofcourse. And I'm not sure if I want to spend 400-something euros on *just* a phone.

My question to you: Should I get the desire to enjoy the full potential of android or is the Wildfire a pretty good phone also? Do you know other great android phones available in the 200 to 450 euro pricerange? And I mean non-HTC ones. I've checked the htc legend and such.

I would recommend the desire over the wildfire simply in regards to "future proofing". Its been a well documented fact that as an OS matures it normally requires faster hardware to handle it. I doubt that the wildfire would be upgraded to future versions of android whereas the desire is essentially a slightly modified Nexus One (the Google phone). If you dont mind waiting on a new phone than a good idea might be to wait for the dual core processor phones to come out in Q1 & Q2 of 2011. Even if you decide not to get one of the dual core phones, most other (single core) androids should drop in price. :)

Go for a Galaxy S, even with Samsung's crappy OS update delays. Extremely easy to root n Flash (if you choose to), but slim, sexy, turbo-fast and amazing screens.Just sayin...
