Thread: a Fix from Apple for their Iphone 4 Antenna issue!!!!!

I actually haven't had any problem with my Iphone 4. The reception for me is great better then any of my other phones I have had in the past (mostly smart phones) On top of that I am getting a free case so now I really can't complain.



I haven't messed with any android based phones but as of now I am happy with IOS 4 so why look any where else?

This solution of apples is ridiculous. For once I`m glad I didn`t rush to by the iphone. I`ll just wait until next years model comes out and hopefully they actually resolve the problem, not start issuing all their phones with plastic wrap around them.

Are the cases really that hideous? If I was to get an IPhone 4 I'd probably want to protect it with a case anyway :).

It is actually quite amazing how such a glaring problem actually got through apples quality testing. Doesn't say much about their quality control. That said, i think the real problem with android is the fragmentation of the OS. Different manufacturers uses different UI, and because it is available to everyone, a large number of devices, ranging from the basic to the very advanced use it. With the iphone, app store developers could just create one app, and it would work for all iphone users. Developers on the android market, however have to choose which class of devices are they actually making the app for. Dont get me wrong, i would prefer android over the iphone anytime. But i would have liked it if google would have atleast have some basic requirements for running android such as a certain processor and graphics accelerator. I say this because i owned a samsung galaxy spica and finding an app that worked flawlessly took some searching. However, in my iphone 3g every app just works.

I am hoping someone who has actually been through the free bumper/case process can clear some things up for me.

My friend Roth purchased his iPhone 4G from AT&T and they didn't mention the free case deal with him, so he purchased a speck case for his phone. I found out that he had to pay for his case, so I looked into it. It seems besides the AT&T staff not mentioning anything to him, if someone is to purchase the iPhone from AT&T and not Apple then all they can receive free or get a rebate on is the Apple Bumper. However, it seems that if you purchase the iPhone from Apple then you can get either a free bumper or case.

Can anyone validate this? Does anyone know what cases you can get for free? I will be purchasing my own iPhone 4G soon and I don't want a bumper, as I prefer to get a full enclosed case for it. I am just wondering which cases Apple is letting you choose from, so that way I know if I need to get myself a case some where else because even though it may be free if it isn't something I would normally want then it doesn't matter if its free.
