Sorry, I hate Apple :)
But a friend told me that the new iPhones will come with a clear-coating around the antenna. Apple will also do a silent recall (you tell them there is a problem and they fix it)

Yep! Got one the day it was released in Canada. No issues at all. I just jailbroked it but didnt like it later, so restored back to the original settings.

Australia on Optus
2. Do you have any reception problem normally?
Depends where I go really. But in the city areas where I'd expect good reception, no troubles.
3. Do you experience reception problem when you hold the phone with your hand connecting 2 antenna?
I may get a couple of bars dropped, but every phone does that from what I can see. I never hold my phone like that anyway so it's a non-issue.
:)
Apparently it's sold out everywhere in Edmonton. I didn't realize it was so damn popular.
Anyways, I bought my sister one and was messing around with the facetime feature. I admit, it's pretty neat, but I'm sure the novelty will run dry fairly quickly.
Aside from that, the device is sleek and appealing, but I don't see myself using it since the Android OS have really pushed hard into the market and I do prefer it over the IOS4.
In any case, she's on Rogers in Canada. I haven't heard any issues with the reception nor any drop calls. We've never had that issue here so that's probably irrelevant to many US users. I think she bought a case for hers and, no, I don't think blocking the antenna have caused any major problems.
The thing with facetime is that it's not a new thing. I don't believe america really has the option of video calls, but Australia has (provided the phone supports it) supported video chat for almost 7-8 years now. facetime does have the benefit in that it uses wifi connections (better quality and stability of call), but its not new, certainly for those nations with decent telecommunications companies which have enabled video chat already.
ya friend , i all ways get this problem ...i m from india ..airtel connection..
In London UK. Tons of reception problems on O2 with iPhone 4 using 3G network. I often have to switch to Edge just to make sure I am retaining service. My phone will normally have less 3G service untouched than my iPhone 3gs.
