If it's the passcode your talking about, if you can connect it to the computer it last did a sync to, you should be able to do a restore on it. Outside of that I don't think there are much for options.

You can restore the phone to its unlocked, factory condition. There's an option in Tunes to do this. You will of course lose any data/apps/settings on the phone.

I was in this same situation a few months ago, and did have data I wanted on the phone, but never did find any other solution.

i think that is inpossible if you are not on your computer, you cannot restore iphone if you dont know your passcode or if you not on the computer that you used to sync with!

Perhaps I confused things by saying "restore" (which is of course only possible from a backup that you performed on your computer) instead of "recovery", which is a complete overwrite of the phone's storage back to its original state.

no no dude, i think if you have passcode you need to enter it to restore, it doesent matter if you are in dfu mode itunes detects that your iphone is locked with code and it wount let you restore until you enter code in iphone, but if you are using computer with which u did sync (installed apps uploaded music) u can do restore without entering the code! sry on my bad english!

Keep in mind, iTunes will not allow you to restore it unless it is in DFU Mode.
    1. Connect the iPhone to your computer.
2.Press and hold the home button and the power off button (the one on top of the iPhone)
    3. Wait 10 seconds and then stop holding down the power off button, but keep holding down the home button (the one at the bottom of your iPhone used to exit apps)
4.Wait for iTunes to say it has detected an iPod in restore mode.
