It won't void your warranty as long as you know how to restore your iphone. if something goes wrong during jailbreaking, just restore it and the company won't notice that you tried to jailbreak it.

Jailbreaking is not only easy but is completely undetectable following a restore.

For what it's worth, if you ever wish to re-sell your 3Gs when it comes time to upgrade to whatever, having jailbroken so that your SHSHes are on file can actually increase the value of your phone as it will enable the person who gets your phone to perform an Unlock on it.

Really the only benefit that 4.1 had was for 3G users, as it restored some major performance issues.

For everyone else, it was just a release to bring the GameCenter application to everyone. The frameworks were already in 4.0, the developers knew about it, but no one jumped on board by launch time.

    Hi diegocross,

I'm now at 3.1.3 wanted to upgrade to iOS4 but preserve my baseband. Is it possible to preserve my baseband with the upgrade using redsnow or any other tool? I'm using windows 7

SInce pwnagetool is out, jailbreaking to 4.1 is easy and safe as it preserves your baseband. However a Mac is required to do so. Did mine on my OSX86, works perfectly
