Google needs to do more advertising and get Ecclair or better on more devices. I'm sure they'll be in a good position by the holidays when Phone 7 comes out though.

The apple fanboys I've spoken to seem to thin the ipad with be the next best thing to sliced bread.
I'm just hoping that Steve Jobs decision not to support flash on either the iphone or ipad comes back to haunt him.

I couldn't agree more, there are far too many people that still haven't heard about the android OS.

I'm not a big fan of Flash. It's way too much of a resource hog. As many years as it has been around, Macromedia/Adobe really should have been able to optimize it much more. Even M$ Phone 7 isn't supporting, at least not at this time. That said, it's still a staple for many web sites and services. HTML5 would solve the streaming video issue, but no clue what options people that make games in Flash will have.

AT&T just got it's first Android phone, the Motorola Backflip, and personally can't wait for the other 2 high-profile phones coming down the pipe: Nexus One and Dell Mini 5. If they feel as good as they look I might not be waiting for Phone 7 to come out after all.

They are apple fanboys for a reason.

I'm all in favor of seeing what the Win 7 phone series is going to look like, but I'll take anything pre-release with a grain of salt. Remember that WinMob 6.5 was supposed to be great as well, and while it wasn't a miserable pile of shit it wasn't exactly the second coming either.

Either way, I enjoyed having a windows mobile phone if only for the community at ppcgeeks hacking the crap out of it. It was a lot of fun to dig around in if not use.

Looks like MS is now interested in creating first part games for the new Windows Mobile platform. That could get very interesting......

I beg to differ, WinMo 6.5 most certainly was a miserable pile of shiz. I'm really glad Phone 7 is a complete reboot of the OS and is modelled after Zune, so it has nothing at all in common w/ the WinMo series. That said, I hear rumors that the architecture is not the most user friendly for developers, and that they focused more on the user experience. While this may sound acceptable from the end-user's perspective, applications are what're going to make or break this platform. The dev tools they distribute need to be quickly learnable and powerful enough to create useful apps, and the platform as a whole needs to be able to easily integrate new applications. This is what Apple got right from Day 1, and unless M$ also gets all of those factors right, the platform will die a slow painful death.

I mean respect of the ones who think Steve Jobs can do no wrong and every apple product is amazing.
I hold no loyalty to one company when it comes to phones, mp3 players and computers OSes.
I decide what's best for me and go with that regardless of the company.

So many websites use it and with more people using smart phones for internet access, even though I do agree with you've said, they need to sit up and pay attention.
It's interesting to see Google have given Android flash support while Apple and MS sit back and wait.

I have read really good things about Windows 7 mobile. Though I wish manufactuers would concentrate on improving voice quality. There are voice conferencing systems so sensitive that you can hear a pen drop. Maybe it is a carrier problem, and the are unwilling to boost voice bandwidth. The ATT Network is going to slow to a crawl with the ipad.
