I believe that android is the better OS in the long run.
    It has a brighter future.

Android is all about progress, look how far they've come in a year and a half since G1 was released.
For the people who complain about tiny things,
just look how much they've accomplished in so little time!
Multitouch is natively supported now(no thanks to @pples patents),
Flash is already running on the latest released handsets (Desire in UK etc.)
That's more of an adobe issue, but even then android will be the first to get perfect flash playback support from 10.1 when its released!
I have pretty much 0 major issues with the OS.

Compare that to Apple, who even now after all the time people have been begging for multitasking, the dawn of "kinda-multitasking" on the iphone OS is upon us.
The same with copy and pasting (which eventually came, what almost 2 years later?), and even putting a background on your desktop :001_tongue: (will eventually come to >3GS models only ).

Apple is all about regress, they're taking power away from the developers and users and trying to control everything.
Iphone OS will never have Flash, or flash-developed apps, because of apple's latest restrictions.

Android is the best because in 1.5 short years they took a baby OS that was more of a hobby for google than a real venture, and turned it into a mobile powerhouse and the biggest threat to all other smartphone companies.
The only thing that ever held android back was other companies (apple, adobe, microsoft) and their restrictions and patents.
Apple is holding themselves back, with all their stupid rules.
That's why android has the 1-up on them.
    I'll leave with this:

Androids growth rate is enormous, more than 14x the speed of apples current growth.
At the speed new android handsets are being churned out, this rate of change is probably gonna remain constant for a while to come.

I read somewhere (on this huge internet) that it is thought that Google is offering subsidies to phone companies in exchange of using its OS. They appear to want to increase their base. But I think they screw with the N1 for it was too expensive and a not to very easy plan with t-mobile.

You're kidding right? Hows 179 with a 2year plan too expensive or so bad with tmobile?

First of all, the subsidy crap is probably not true, but even if it was..
The potential of the android OS is magnificent.
Companies are all over it, there are at least 50 devices either out-in development-or soon to be released running android.
You honestly believe google "paid" for them all to run android?
How about all the people using the A-OS and changing it into things such as Bada with samsung, and Xperia, and MotoBLUR.
Google wouldn't pay them to use android if they were gonna warp into their own liking.

first of all, I don't think N1 is expensive in anyway. I don't live in US and I had to buy the phone unlocked + postage, which I think is a fair price. Having said that, Australian doesn't have good deals on gadgets nor they are up to date. Moreover, this is a much powerful hardware build than iphone 3gs and it is around the same price range, and android offers much more than iphone OS can, even with the FW 4.X with the so called multi-tasking (if you acknowledge that as multi-tasking)

secondly, no, Google does not pay anyone to use android on their devices. Mobile phone manufacturers and other gadgets makers prefer to use android because it is open source and low maintenance and development cost, for example, Samsung fired some developers after they decided to switch their focus to android.

Well it only makes sense that a torrent-based website has android lovers on it.
Nerds/computer "enthusiasts" (lol) like us love filesharing which brings us here, and many of us also love openness, linux and the ability to customize everything on our devices.

Post this on a cooking or parenting website and the results will tip in the other direction.
