I'm in Australia and I've got a friend in the USA who is with Verizon. A little while back I had a look at the terms on their website and it seems that every time I send an SMS message to my friend, we are both charged - myself obviously for sending and the part that doesn't make sense - my friend for receiving the message. Initially the costs aren't very high but they do add up very quickly - for both of us.



I've never previously heard of charging people to receive but I figured it may be a different set of rules and policies in the US. Can anybody confirm this as I'm unable to locate that page at the moment?
