    Default iPhone 3GS

    Can any of you iPhone phreaks out there answer me on if it's possible to jailbreak and/or unlock an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.X on a PC (I've read that there are Mac apps but I don't own a Mac).

    Please?

    Yes you can just have to use blackra1n to do it

    It is the easiest one to use if you are running windows if you are not then you can use the the one from dev-team

    Isn't blackra1n the one where you have to have the iPhone connected to your pc everytime you wanna restart the iPhone?

    that is rc1 they are on RC3 now which is suppose to fix that

    I actually didnt have that problem with any of them thou

    I must admit I have a hard time to understand wtf to do even when reading the above links :) I have a new 3GS with 3.1.0 .. how do I know what to run? yellowsnow, ultrasnow, redsnow, purplerain, blackrain etc etc etc. And is it possible to jailbreak and unlock my version? And how do I know what baseband version I have?

    This is NOT my cup of tea :)

    1. Yes you can jailbreak your 3GS
    2. That's you Baseband version, go to: Settings --> General --> About --> scrowl down to the end and you'll find "Modem firmware".
    3. Jailbreak. Go to this tutorial on iClarified: iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak and Unlock Your iPhone 3G, 3GS Using BlackSn0w [Windows]
