Most phones that I have seen with dual sim cannot work at the same time they have to be on one or the other sim. I have seen one phone out of china that has switching software so you can use both at the same time. If I can find the link I will pm you

oh sorry I have an dual sim phone but it is the one that will not switch back and forth. but for me I have two place that I live and I use it in both, and just bought it so I didnt have to switch sims and the chances are I would lose one if it wasnt in the phone

Hey you didn't mention in which country u live ? I used a dual sim phone in India "Spice D-88n" to be exact. My experience with it is quite pleasant. Its GSM/CDMA dual sim phone.
I used it because the place i worked i received signals for only one particular service provider but at my home i had to use a different one as i don't get many bars of the same company. I used to carry two mobiles till i found the Spice D-88n. In D-88n both connections work parallel (U see Signal Bars for both connections on one side and Battery on other side)....While you are speaking on one line if u have a incoming call on the other line than you can put the call on hold and answer the other one. Battery life was decent 2 Days with both lines turned on. The model is quite reasonably priced too.......this particular model lacks Bluetooth other than that it has everything i need.

Spice also has Dual GSM sim phones and i heard they work equally well.

you can get phones from both phone at the same time, one is kept in waiting when other is on.
(depends on model and type of settings you keep)
if u buy such a phone u don't have to carry two phones, but in time of emmergengy when your battery is exhausted, u land no-where.

I think is easier to use a dual sim phone than two phones with different numbers.

I used to have a dual sim phone. On my experience, the down side of this is my battery life is shorter by at least 30 % due to the fact that it has to get signals from 2 service providers. Apart from that, everything is good

Hi not so sure about two network providers but a normal sim card can hold 3 phone numbers.
We use them at work so that one of our vehicle tracking units can send gps positional data and can also be used as a phone sim.

some dual sim phones allow both sims to be used at the same thing, but the older models will only allow one sim to be used while the other one is kept in standby etc

    u get the picture

they are ok though, as in they work and you dont have to carry 2 phones :)
