Go into a store, play with the iPhone, then play with the Palm Pre. Try to think of ways you are going to be using it - see how it performs in real life. This advice applies to pretty much any phone. Although besides those 2, I would say the software is as good only on the Android.
iphone really is a good multimedia phone....palm pre is more intended to webOS and webapps...u can get shit done practicly..hehhehe
Yea I would go the iphone over palm pre, with os 3.0 and 3gs the iphone now has 99% of the features the pre has but with more and cheaper apps etc. just doesnt have the slide out keyboard
I like the Pre because it plays nice with Microsoft Exchange, but I don't like the keyboard at all. It's way too cramped to be practical. The question is do you prefer a tiny keyboard with tactile feedback (Pre) or a larger touchscreen keyboard (iPhone and the like).
The PalmPre was made by an ex-apple exec so its a pretty decent machine. The only downside is that it only has 8(?) apps to choose from while the Iphone has over 15k. However, the PalmPre has a qwerty keyboard if you want a physical keyboard.
The keyboard is way too small for any real texting, I have had one since June and still have problems
