    Default Samsung Galaxy S II

Anyone else using (or planning to get) this beast of a phone? It looks good, it's light and built very well, fits nicely into the hand, plays anything you throw at it, UI is smooth as butter and it's customisable like anything (check XDA). There's been rave reviews from pretty much all the major and minor review sites (9s and 10s out of 10), first hand reports are largely positive. I'm expecting to last at least a year or two on this. Been released pretty much everywhere by now (except the good ol' USA )

Anyone else want to brag with me?

I`m in the middle of buying SGS2 and HTC Sensation, but not sure which to get. So u own galaxy s2 ? I checked some sites and i did saw that galaxy s2 has superior display(super amoled ),more RAM,more internal storage, better front camera..yet i like that sensation has dual LED flash and higher resolution (540×960) and all my friends had no luck with samsung ever,so they advised me against it. You think they made a mistake ?

The HTC Sensation is a good phone too, there's a lot of Youtube comparisons out there if you haven't already checked them out. YouTube - ‪galaxy s2 vs htc sensation‬‏

IMO the higher resolution doesn't even matter to me. I've checked out the S2 with an iPhone 4 (with its 540x960 display) and the SAMOLED+ display trumps it; brighter, more vivid, you can see the pixels but only if you squint and use a magnifying glass. :P Also since it lights up and turns off the individual LEDs it doesn't have a backlight, hence blacks are actually black not a shade of grey. Saves power too if your screen is mainly black all the time. The LED flash is bright enough for me, it's actually usable as a flashlight as it lights up to about 7m or so. But really if you want night photography I don't really think any phone can cut it TBH.

What your friends may have experienced is severe fragmentation issues with the Samsung Galaxy SI, different areas of the world got vastly different versions due to carriers, regions etc. Updates were few and far between and the general experience was pretty bad unless you were willing to hack it and install a custom ROM. With the S2 it's ready to use out of the box, much like an iPhone. No tinkering around needed unless you want to optimise and further customise it. It's a welcome change really.

I am getting the Samsung Galaxy S2 on Wednesday, it's amusing that you bring this topic up. I have also read lot of reviews and comments about this phone and I think it's just the best. I always wanted to buy the Iphone, because of the operating system, but now Android got really good too. I especially tended towards the Iphone, as a mac user, I also want to use the applications from my computer on my phone. Most application were only available for the Iphone, but Android is really cathing up. The Iphone on the other side has outdated hardware and is extremely expensive. I will get the Samsung Galaxy S2, because it has the best hardware around and with Android Os I can also control my torrents, VPS(which I use mainly as VPN), Evernote and lost but not least my RSS-feeds and those are the most important things for me, concerning a phone. I have also tested the Samsung Galaxy S from a friend and it was just amazing, I can do nearly all the things I can also do on my computer, also nearly as fast. I can write a review here when I actually have the phone.

This the phone of the year. The only phone that comes close is the Droid Bionic but as well all know the Bootloader is locked :( so I'm definitely not getting that. Once the SG2 hits the states in August, I'm running to a Verizon store, hopefully VZW will have them.
