HTC is most specialized in making WM-based devices. TouchPro 2 is now their most advanced, business-oriented one (Diamond2 is cool as well - no QWERTY, but much better camera for example, TP2 camera is designed to take pictures of business cards mostly), but if I were you, I'd wait for HTC codename: SuperStar which should be available in the last quarter of this year. According to the huge leak they had it's gonna be based on nVidia tegra CPU which means being superfast in comparison to current Qualcomm ~600mhz sluggish shit (that are slowly being abandoned by all manufacturers). Also some Snapdragon 1ghz devices should come into play very soon (Toshiba already released one). Not to mention that WM 6.5 and 7 are on their way and it's better to have a device that is fully compatible with that forthcoming, much improved and advanced systems. Try surviving few months with some temporal phone (just as I do, hehe). Some really great devices are going to be available this Xmass.

Palm PRE is also great - it has its flaws just like every other device, but it's quite revolutionary and it has very little to do with their old products. You shouldn't ignore it just like that.

We're facing a technology standards shift right now (new systems, new CPUs) - I think getting some patience instead of new device is a good choice now, 'cause your new device might appear quite old within months. In case you don't care, it's still worth waiting to see their prices falling down quickly and get some today monster for half the price (first Touch Pro without any significant technology improvement is ca. 40% cheaper now after 6 months).

adenai is totally certain in his post. But I'd give myself a shot at the Blackberry models out there. Test one and see if you really like it.

I used Palm, Sony Clie, a couple of HTCs, most of my life until I met iPhone and I am still loving it!

:P i cant wait for the HTC Incredible to come out that phone is awesome i dont see anything around that will even come close to it.
