    Default BIOS flash nVidia Card

Hey Guys I have tried this method when I owned an XFX GTS 250 ..And this worked flawlessly .. I have customized my card to run with a GIGABYTE BIOS and with also upto 810mhz without a single artifact. The method to flash a BIOS quite simple .

    • Choose the correct BIOS according to architecture , type and size of RAM . I chose from TechPowerUp BIOS Collection ,another site is MKVtech but that requires a lot of manual searching.
    • Check the BIOS File properly and check Voltages and every single details like BIOS Version , Product code and board even Fan Speed for that matter .
    • If you flash with the upgraded BIOS of the same manufacturer[like XFX , MSI , EVGA etc] then check for exact same code for your card . And if your flashing with a different BIOS then be sure that your card can take that much of voltage and your cooler can keep up with the heat . For my GTS 250 I had a voltage change from 1.15v to 1.20v that allowed loads of OCing but with a 3-4 degree rise in temperature .
    • Keep a backup of the current BIOS .

    • After Downloading the BIOS you will find its in the ".bin" format .You have to convert it to ".rom" format. Now to do that you need the NiBiTor .

Now Open the ".bin" file by selecting the file in the "Open" command .

Now select "Save As" from the file tab of NiBiTor and Save it as ".rom" file.

Now Download Windows 98SE boot disk here and extract it . Now to prepare your USB Stick for this purpose . Plug in your USB Stick and use HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool . And Select "Create a DOS startup Disk"and navigate to the place you extracted the win98SE_bootdisk.iso and select START.

Now download nVflash . And extract the files and copy it to the USB stick and along with this put the BIOS rom file in the USB as well.

Now boot your system from the USB Stick and type in the following commands for the given functions.

nvflash -b <backup>.rom (Backup your BIOS)
    nvflash -5 -6 <name>.rom (Normal BIOS Flash)
nvflash -4 -5 -6 <name>.rom (Forced BIOS Flash generally required for flashing card with a modded BIOS or a BIOS from different Manufacturer / different model of the same Manufacturer like XXX editions )

    • Be sure of what you do and do it on YOUR RISK.I can help only if you get artifacts and voltage problems and my advice dont try to flash BIOS of different models like for eg don't flash a GTX 260 with a BIOS of GTX 275 . Though people claim success on these type of attempts but I don't advice them as we are not rich enough to lose such costly cards neither are we equipped enough to fix it if anything goes wrong in such flashes.

If you like my effort then please gift me a good Graphic card else at least some recognition would be good .This is a fully tested method.
