I still use mIRC a lot to download video files (anime release groups still use them a lot) but I didn't know about book channels.
I read a lot, so this will com in very handy.

Is there any none-windows like mac os x guide to IRC?
What is the quality like for ebooks on IRC? Are there more books to choose from than demonoid (which is the best torrent site for ebooks that I'm a member of)?
We designed this tutorial for Mac users showing how to download books using the IRC.

Great tutorial.
I have to try this and see how IRC is for non-fiction books
^^To be honest, there is not a lot of non fiction in those channels. It is mainly fiction. You might get lucky though. Gigapedia on the other hand (library.nu these days) is fantastic for non fiction with tons of text books and other learning materails. :)
When you're a kid you assume your parents are soulmates. My kids are going to be right about that...
