    Default [WATERMARKING] Protecting your images.

Hi guys, for those who are worried about the stealing of their tracker proof images, this could be a possible solution, and not too difficult.
    Just follow the next steps:

Step I. Write your name or the name who is asking for it in the internet browser before printing your screen then hide your name with a rectangle in "paint", or any picture manager, of course don't hide the download or upload ratio, that's the point.

*In fact I'm hiding my nick and my status (Down, Upload & ratio), cuz I'm not as good as you..lol

Step II. Then choose the part of your screen you are gonna show, crop it, and save it...

Step III. Of course we'll need a tool to overwrite the watermark on your image, if you want you can download from here (RapidShare: Easy Filehosting), you don't need to install anything, it's a portable app. If you want you can download by yourself, its name: Watermark factory.

Step IV. Double click on the aplication you downloaded (.exe) and a window like this will appear on your screen. (* Don't worry, the aplication was scanned with Nod32 v.3 and I didn't found any virus)

Step V. Then you have to click on "Add files", and search for the image you want to protect, in this case my image is called "proof", click on it.

Step VI. Then click on "Watermarks" and a screen with "the list is empty" text will appear. Now, you can choose if you want to write text or paste an image in the watermark, in this case i will choose "text" but you can choose any one you like it. Click on the "add text" button.

Step VII. A new window will appear and here (text settings) you can choose the text, the size and other stuffs you want to print on your proof image. I'll write the name of a good website I found. You can write a "C" or "R" letter for Copyright.

Step VIII. In the next tab "text effects" you can choose the shadow features, as distance, opacity and angle if you want.

Step IX. Now, In the position feature you have to change the mode, instead "manual" you have to choose "tile", and you can rotate your text clicking in the little orb.

Step X. It's important to put some watermark text upon your ratio to avoid to anyone crop it with an image manager. Maybe you can crop it but you couldn't erase the watermark. You can "play" with the degrees and the Horz and Vert spaces on the position feature. (It's not difficult). Click O.K button, the next window will appear.

Step X. On "destination" choose "the same as original folder", and a warning dialogue will appear, just close it and overwrite it.

Last Step. Now just click on Generate! button, and...
VOÍLA! Less than 2 minutes and your image is protected!

    With text

    or with image

    * If you think the watermark text could interfere with the image you just have to reduce the opacity of the watermark (Step 7)

Well that's all for now. I hope you like it. And Happy MegaDownloads!

Good tutorial, I'm sure this will be useful for many people. My personal favorite method of watermarking though is just to take some text/ an image and in Photoshop set it to a low transparency and put it on top of the image. Granted, not everybody has photoshop though.

Danls92, I think there are a lot more users with Photoshop than you think. It's a pretty common app these days. I use it almost daily.
I agree with you though, I watermark my images in Photoshop. I usually just create a separate layer for the text and use either hard light or soft light.

Great tutorial! I think everyone should read this, and start watermarking their public ratio proofs.

Nice. I might make a glass-looking watermark for everyone that can be used to images if they want it? I'll make it for tomorrow.
