Well jayeshkvr requested this so I figured this might be useful for some more photoshop newbies around here.

So this is for you jayeshkvr

Open up the image which you want to round the corners on.
For the purpose of this tutorial I'm going to use this image:



Open it up on photoshop and select the photo layer in the layer window, if your layer windows is not showing click f7, your layer windows looks like this:



If your image layer has a lock icon like this:



Double click it, you should get a window, just press Enter on your keyboard to invoke the OK button.

now that we have everything set up double click the mask button on your image layer (probably name "Background"). The mask button is at

the bottom of your layer window:

Now your image layer should look like this:



Click on the right hand mask to select it. now that you have the mask selected right click the shape tool (U on keyboard) and select the rounded rectangle shape:



now that you have the shape selected just select a shape the size of what you want the final image to look like. What you are essentially are doing is creating a vector mask, allowing the image to only show through the vector shape.





Now just save as a png to keep transparency, or alternatively just fill the background with forum color.



And that's it, voila:
