I managed to delete it using a roundabout method. I booted a Live CD containing Ubuntu and then mounted my harddrive, deleting it using Ubuntu. That worked fine and it is completely gone now. I don't recommend following this thread unless you want to keep the folder.
it is just an invisible folder as the topic says
